{"id":6661,"date":"2021-11-14T22:37:37","date_gmt":"2021-11-14T21:37:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/les-petits-bonheurs.com\/?p=6661"},"modified":"2025-05-11T17:43:56","modified_gmt":"2025-05-11T15:43:56","slug":"christmas-shortbread-biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/les-petits-bonheurs.com\/en\/2021\/11\/14\/christmas-shortbread-biscuits\/","title":{"rendered":"Christmas Shortbread biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 940px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-6661-1\" width=\"940\" height=\"1671\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/les-petits-bonheurs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Gateaux_02_AE_LD.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/les-petits-bonheurs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Gateaux_02_AE_LD.mp4\">https:\/\/les-petits-bonheurs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Gateaux_02_AE_LD.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<p>Even before Christmas, here is a nice way to keep the kids entertained and to delight snacks\u2026<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"csRow\">\n<div class=\"csColumn\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 37%;\" data-csstartpoint=\"0\" data-csendpoint=\"355\" data-cswidth=\"37.0%\" data-csid=\"a483daf8-346b-8d43-a77b-b5544364b929\">\n<p><strong>For 50 shortbread biscuits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>250g <em>(2 cups) <\/em>of flour<\/li>\n<li>80g <em>(1\/2 cup)<\/em> of brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 pack of vanilla sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp of 4 spices (Cinnamon, black pepper, clove et nutmeg)<\/li>\n<li>150g <em>(2\/3 cup)<\/em> of salted butter<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Royal icing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>150g to 200g <em>(2 cups) <\/em>of icing sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 egg white<\/li>\n<li>1 squeeze of lemon juice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"csColumnGap\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 1.04%;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none;\" src=\"https:\/\/les-petits-bonheurs.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/advanced-wp-columns\/assets\/js\/plugins\/views\/img\/1x1-pixel.png\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"csColumn\" style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px; float: left; width: 62%;\" data-csstartpoint=\"365\" data-csendpoint=\"960\" data-cswidth=\"62.0%\" data-csid=\"e7074fde-be74-b3af-8a8d-8a8202a7e444\">\n<p>Sift the flour and mix it with the sugar, the vanilla sugar and the 4 spices. Add the butter cut in pieces and knead to obtain a fine powder.<\/p>\n<p>Add the egg and mix until a smooth dough. Form a ball and wrap it in cling film then set aside in the fridge for one hour.<\/p>\n<p>Roll out the dough on a floured work surface. With a cookie cutter, cut forms in the dough and place them on a baking sheet.<\/p>\n<p>Bake at 160\u00b0C for 12 to 15 minutes. Biscuits are done when the edges are turning golden brown.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare the icing. Lightly beat the egg white with a fork and mix with the sugar and the squeeze of lemon juice.
