The ground ivy (Glechoma hederacea) is an aromatic plant of the same family as mint and melissa. Its powerful smell actually reminds of mint. It can be recognized by its square stem, the heart-shaped leaves with circular teeth that grow with an angle of 90° at every level, and by the purple flowers that bloom in the spring and look like tiny little orchids.

The ground ivy is full of virtues and can be used in infusions, raw or cooked, in a lot of recipes. It grows in semi-shade wetlands, like forest borders…
